I will be implementing some of the new Vegas rules and new USSSA rules for 2024.

MANAGERS/COACHES PLEASE PRINT THIS OUT AND KEEP A COPY. THE UMPIRES WILL HAVE THESE AND ENFORCE THEM. THE USSSA DIRECT, RALPH CALDERON WILL HAVE EACH MANAGERS DIRECT EMAIL. HE WILL UPDATE SCORES ONLINE SOON AS EACH GAME FINISHES AND THIS IS WHERE EACH MANAGER WILL BE ABLE TO VIEW FIELDS AND GAME TIMES. ANY RAIN DELAYS, ETC.

***YOU MUST BE AT THE FIELDS FOR YOUR SCHEDULED GAME 30 MINUTES BEFORE GAME TIME, IN CASE OF ANY RUN RULES OR FORFEITS TO KEEP PLAY MOVING. THIS WILL BE ENFORCED.


RULES: Modified USSSA rules apply. All rules are governed by USSSA.

• COUNT: 1-1 Count with NONE to waste.

• HOME RUN LIMIT: Round robin, 7 homeruns for all teams. Double elimination, 7 for Major and 5 for Gold. Then an out.

• RE-ENTRY RULE: A player in the starting line-up may be removed and re-enter the game TWO times for the same player. It is explained as if they are married to each other and can change spots twice. After the 2nd time the player is burnt. Example: Player 1 starts game and Player 2 comes in for 1 at some point. 1 can re-enter and 2 can come back in a 2nd time for 1 and 1 only. Now 1 is burnt. Could pay dividends late in games. UMPIRES WILL EXPLAIN THIS RULE DURING RR GAMES

• APPEALS: Any rulings must be appealed at the time they occur and will be determined first by the Umpire in Chief and if necessary, by the tournament directors and/or Designee (Generally, tournament directors/CC will only rule on the modified rules covered in these pages. Interpretation of a USSSA rule will be generally handled by the UIC). Late appeals will not be heard. Rules covering ethical issues will be interpreted to uphold the high standards of the law enforcement profession.

• TIME LIMIT: During Round Robin, games will be 7 innings or 65 minutes. No new innings may start after the 65-minute mark. In the playoffs, there will be no time limit.

• RUN RULE: The run rule is 20 after four innings, 15 after five innings and 10 after six innings. These run rules are in effect during all games except the championship game. In the championship game, the run rule is 20 after five innings.

• TIES: If the game is tied after a full 7 innings or 65 minutes in round robin, it will be declared a tie. In double elimination, the game will continue as the 7 innings before until there is a winner.

• FORFEITS: All forfeits will be scored 7-0.

• PLAYOFF SEEDING: This was tweaked to fit the Space Coast bracket system. This order will populate the online system quickly. This is the format they use for all tourneys.

Playoff seeding will be determined by (in this order):
1) Round Robin Won-Loss Record (Head-to-head factors in, if two teams have the same record)
2) Run allowed
3) Most runs scored
4) Run Differential *max is 15 runs per game
5) Higher national ranking (non-combo team)


-Coin Flip for Home Team in all Pool Games.

-In Double Elimination Games the Higher Seed will have choice of Home/Away Team in Undefeated games,

-Coin Flip will return in Losers Bracket of Elimination, in event of “if game” in Finals it Will be a Flip.

-HEAD GEAR (MASK and/or HELMET) IS MANDATORY FOR ALL PITCHERS.

-Bring Police ID, any questions defer to PS.Com eligibility rules.

-NO two-state rule...BUT (based off expected Vegas roster for 2024). Integrity will come into play for this. ELITE 8 TOURNAMENT. The winner of this tournament or highest finishing "rostered" team will earn Elite 8 status and secure a guaranteed Majors berth in WS XIX. Teams using MORE than ONE non-rostered player can still participate but cannot earn an Elite 8 berth.

-Provided bats and balls (Brett Helmer and Mike Mancenko, Easton, Miken, Worth). Each team gets one dozen, balls available for purchase after that.

-If the batter is in the box the pitcher can deliver the pitch as long as he presents the ball (USSSA rule).

-Pitcher must be in contact with the "rubber" when then pitch is delivered. (USSSA rule).

-Mandatory runner for the pitcher. One other runner per inning. Can be anyone on the roster/score card. If runner is on base when his at bat comes up, it is an out. No sub allowed.

-When teams get into the dugout after the team before them has finished their game there will be no infield warmups etc. Please do that on the down time as you are waiting for your game. There will be an immediate call for a coin toss and then the game will start.

-NO arguing strikes and balls! Period. We will have great umpires that umpire regularly at Space Coast, plus we are Cops, treat them accordingly.

-Runners must stay on the bags through the pitch until the ball is hit. NO getting off and retouching. IF OFF THE BAG WHEN PITCH DELIVERED, WILL BE A DEAD BALL AND RUNNER WILL BE CALLED OUT
